Gamesa Electric will supply two 10 MW synchronous hydro generators for the refurbishment of Gabi hydropower plant in the Pennine Alps, in Switzerland. The plant, original from 1958, belongs to a compound of three power stations under renovation.
This hydropower has played an important role in the economic development of this remote European region for decades. The hydroelectric plant compound represents a total production capacity of 82 MW and a yearly production of 239 million kWh.
This is not our first collaboration with this client. We have worked together previously in 23 different hydropower plants in 8 countries, for a total supplied of 335 MW together.
